The Better Hearing Institute (BHI) is giving a shoutout to all life’s awesome sounds in recognition of Better Hearing & Speech Month in May with the launch of its social media campaign, #GiveYourHearingSomeLove. BHI is inviting everyone to join in by signing on through Twibbon and Thunderclap. For Better Hearing and Speech Month, BHI wants people to stop and think about all the amazing sounds they hear on a daily basis. BHI tries to make it easy for people to determine if they need a comprehensive hearing test by a hearing healthcare professional by offering a free, confidential online hearing check at BetterHearing.org. The BHI Hearing Check walks you through a series of simple questions in just a few quick minutes to see if a comprehensive hearing test would be beneficial to you.

New to Twibbon and Thunderclap? Here’s what you need to know.

Thunderclap is a tool that lets lots of people sync the same message across Twitter, Facebook, and Tumblr so the message goes out at the same time—automatically. The BHI #GiveYourHearingSomeLove Thunderclap message is slated to go out on May 31st at 1:00 p.m. (Eastern Time) to wrap up Better Hearing & Speech Month—but join today.

Signing onto BHI’s Thunderclap campaign is easy. And it reminds us how amazing the sounds of life are. Anyone can join in by signing up before May 31st. Just click this link: http://ow.ly/6ZIh30brIwN. Thunderclap will walk you through the rest.

Twibbon is another social media tool. A Twibbon is a ribbon or badge that supporters of a campaign can add to their Twitter and Facebook profile photos. It shows solidarity and enthusiasm, and it’s easy to do.

By clicking here, http://ow.ly/4Pd530bj7Uu, you can go to the #GiveYourHearingSomeLove Twibbon campaign microsite and show your support in these five ways:

  1. Add a Twibbon to your profile photo;
  2. Send out a tweet supporting the campaign;
  3. Post a status update that gives your friends and followers the link they need to find out more about the #GiveYourHearingSomeLove campaign;
  4. Send an email to get the word out to friends, inviting them to join in; and
  5. Use a #GiveYourHearingSomeLove design for your cover photo on Facebook.

You can do just one, or all five—and the Twibbon microsite prompts you through each one. It’s easy.
